When in doubt about what to blog... simply point to someone else's blog. My sister is in China, she arrived just in time to catch the last part of the Olympics. I personally think this is her way of showing me up!
Enjoy!

So Happy Belated Anti-Bullying Day! Since I'm a day late I won't rehash what others have written. But give you this news clip from The Vancouver Sun:
B.C. takes aim against bullies
Show your support for Anti-Bullying
Day Wednesday by wearing pink

VICTORIA - B.C. residents are
being urged to wear pink to work and school Wednesday to mark what has
now been proclaimed provincial anti-bullying day.
"Anti-Bullying Day is
a celebration of those who take action to stop bullies in our schools and
around the province," Premier Gordon Campbell said in a statement
released today as he announced anti-bullying day for Wednesday.
"It starts with all of
us saying bullying is wrong and then standing up for those who become targets,"
he added.
"We all benefit when everyone
feels safe and secure in their schools, neighbourhoods and province."
Speaking to reporters on Monday,
Education Minister Shirley Bond said the day will be marked by discussions
and other forms of awareness raising.
"I think it's building
on a trend that students across the country have said this is not acceptable,
that we need to be a part of how those changes are made," she said.
As part of the awareness campaign,
Bond also urged people across the province to wear pink Wednesday as a
way of showing support for anti-bullying. She said the idea of wearing
pink began in eastern Canada after a child was bullied for wearing a pink
T-shirt to school.
"The next day two students
said, 'You know what? We're going to show support for this student,' and
they showed up wearing pink, and it just multiplied," she said.
"We're pushing to make
sure British Columbia is a sea of pink on Wednesday," she added.
Bond also urged people to become
more aware of the problem, and to think about what they can do to help
find solutions.
"We can put all the programs
we want into place but until each one of us takes responsible for our behaviour,
and certainly not condoning or supporting bullying behaviour, it's going
to be difficult to make changes," she said.
"I'm really proud of students
in this province and across the country who have said we want this to stop."
Right now this seems limited to Canada, but I can see it spreading to other countries very quickly!

So for those of you who asked I now deliver! I'm blogging my couple of weeks in Vancouver, B.C. Quick recap for those don't know what has happened to me over the past month or so.
After almost 7 years with Assurity / Security Life Insurance Co., I have taken a job with Ritchie Brothers Auctioneers in their Lincoln office. Part of the job is 3 weeks training in their Vancouver/Richmond, British Columbia, Canada office.
So after some flight delays in Chicago, I made it to Vancouver. I've spent about two days in office so far and I must say I'm very impressed. Due to their international status as a company it shows in their IT staff. I can't say exactly how many nationalities are represented, but so far I think I've encountered employees from about 14 countries! Luckily for me everyone speaks English in addition to any other languages.
As requested I hope to get some pictures up with my new digital camera. By the way, for you non-Canadians for some reason electronics are REALLY cheap her in Vancouver, might be something to do with shipping costs as Vancouver is in some ways a "Gateway to the East" as far as getting across the Pacific that is.
Cheers!
